If a taxpayer is the father or legal guardian of disabled children, his or her minimum taxable income level for each disabled kid will be BDT 50,000 greater than his or her usual minimum taxable income threshold.
However, if both the father and mother of a disabled kid are taxation payers, then any of them will be eligible for this payment.
So now we have the minimum income tax return threshold, and if this exceeds a person’s income, he or she will be required to pay taxation to the National Board of Revenue in Bangladesh.
Minimum Tax Ceiling

Advance Income Tax (AIT) & TDS Treatment
- TDS deducted at source is adjustable
- Section 82C income is treated as final settlement
- No double taxation on final-settlement income
Final Settlement (Section 82C) – 2026 Example
This example explains how certain income is treated as final settlement under Section 82C when tax is deducted at source. Once tax is deducted under this section, the income does not require further adjustment or inclusion in the regular tax calculation.
In this case, the taxpayer earned BDT 300,000 as interest from savings instruments during the year. A 10% tax was deducted at source, amounting to BDT 30,000. Since the tax was deducted at source under Section 82C, this deduction is treated as final tax, and no additional tax liability arises on this income.
Additionally, the taxpayer has BDT 580,000 as other taxable income. This income does not fall under Section 82C and will be taxed separately according to the applicable income tax slabs.
In summary, the tax deducted on savings instrument interest (BDT 30,000) is considered a final settlement, while the remaining income is subject to normal income tax rules.
Tax Outcome
- Tax on regular income = 33,000
- Investment rebate = 21,750
